Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon innesi) Found in clear water and blackwater streams and tributaries in the Orinoco and Amazon river basins in Brazil, Columbia, and Peru. A peaceful omnivorous, shoaling fish. Best kept in groups of 6 or more. A heavily planted tank with dark substrate real wood and tannin rich water will help them feel most at home. If you do not want the dark water tannins create you can implement floating plants to help block out some light. Very sensitive to water conditions, must be placed in a well established and cycled tank.
