Amano Shrimp
Caridina Multidentata
AKA Yamato Shrimp, Japanese Shrimp, Algae Shrimp, Swamp Shrimp
Found in Taiwan, Korea & Yamato River areas throughout Japan. Known for their insatiable appetite for algae, they will keep your aquariums spotless and debris free. Amano are very hard to breed becauase their larvae needs slightly brackish water during the first few stages of life. The majority of amanos found within the hobby are wild caught.
Live plants, driftwood, caves and rocks are a must. They will be more active and in the open if they know they have an array of hides to retreat to.
